Celebrating Our Graduates
Lexi Sharkus, Badger High School Graduate
“Working at the Cornerstone Shop for the past three years has given me the skills to conquer college and beyond. I have learned more things than I could have ever imagined. I have learned how to order products and follow the order all the way through our receiving process. Working here has given me the most encouragement and readiness for my future. The variety of tasks I have completed here at Cornerstone is none like any other job. I have made lifelong friends working here, and I couldn’t have picked a better employer to work for throughout my high school years."
Sophia Georges, Badger High School Graduate
“Working at the Cornerstone Shop has given me the opportunity to explore creative avenues and skills while building work experience that I can take with me to college. I practiced the workings of a business from both sides. On the floor while the customers shopped, I learned how to arrange merchandise to draw the eye and increase sales, and how to interact with shoppers. In the back where all of the rallying and reporting is done, I learned how to pull information and make business decisions off of it. It was a great variety of work that gave me essential insights into what I want to do for a career, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn about how to run a business or wants to explore the different roles in one.”
Maddy Keller, Elkhorn High School Graduate
“Working at the Cornerstone Shop has provided me with opportunities I would not have had otherwise. Customer service is one of the biggest and most important skills I have strengthened here, and the environment created allows you to blossom as a person. As a young employee here, you’re given many choices to focus on depending on your interests. As it goes for me, I have been able to create and set up displays for our many products, rekindling an interest in design. I have been challenged in the best possible ways that have only helped me in my professional life.”
Caitlin Thies, Williams Bay High School Graduate
“My job at the Cornerstone Shop & Gallery has allowed me to strengthen my communication skills through interactions with people on a daily basis. It taught me how to be helpful and empathetic towards customers, but most importantly, it has allowed me to mature tremendously through my last years of high school.”
